Tour description

Welcome to our all seasons 4 days Bosnia-Herzegovina discovery tour from Makarska, to see old towns, fortresses, monasteries, waterfalls and park with Bosnian Pyramid Of The Sun.

At the first day of this tour we see wonderful Kravica natural park with waterfalls, learn why Medjugorje become famous pilgrimage center, and arrive to Mostar, to walk over old town Mostar (historical center with Mostar bridge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Second day will bring us to visit Blagaj, to see beautiful tekija (dervish monastery) nearly 600 years old, next we will visit medieval fortified town Pocitelj with narrow streets and Ottoman fort, and walk in a real Roman villa Rustica, established as agricultural estate in 4th century AD. The evening and night we will spend in Mostar.

On the third day, on the way to Sarajevo, we will see old bridge in Konjic; in Sarajevo (UNESCO Tentative List site) we will walk the streets of historical center; after the night in Sarajevo, we will understand what is Bosnian Pyramids, see medieval fortress Travnik, and at the end of this day we will take road back.

Mostar, beautiful and historical town, located only 60 km away from the Adriatic Sea, is the cultural, political and financial center of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Its diversity and architecture make it truly special. The Old Bridge, built by the Ottomans in the 16th century, is one of Bosnia-Herzegovina's most recognizable landmarks, and is considered one of the most exemplary pieces of Islamic architecture in the Balkans.

Blagaj, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Blagaj is a village in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of Bosnia-Herzegovina, located in about 15 km from Mostar, and is one of the most valuable mixed urban and rural built environments in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Blagaj has eleven national monuments, and is famous for the spring of the Buna river coming from cave, historical Dervish monastery (tekija) built around 1520, and medieval fortress Blagaj Fort, town-fortress complex built on a 310 meters high karst hill. Blagaj is also known as a residential area of Bosnian rulers and royal families.

Počitelj (Pocitelj), Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for fortified town, fortress, medieval old town, viewpoint; medieval old town is a UNESCO Tentative List Site

Počitelj is a small Ottoman-Mediterranean settlement, built along the Neretva river, conveniently located on the major road between Dubrovnik and Mostar. The walled town of Počitelj evolved in the period from the 16th to the 18th centuries. Architecturally, the stone-constructed parts of the town are a fortified complex, in which two stages of evolution are evident: medieval and Ottoman.

Mogorjelo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for ancient settlement, archaeological site, nature

Mogorjelo is site and location of a Roman villa rustica that dates from the early fourth century. The villa area is surrounded by a park. The site is protected by the state and is a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The town is one of the oldest permanent settlements in Bosnia-Herzegovina (dating back almost 4000 years), and home to the iconic Konjic Old Stone Bridge, constructed in 1683 during the Ottoman era. Konjic is also famous for its woodcarving tradition. Konjic natural heritage together with the cultural heritage represent rich and valuable resources for Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as Europe.

It is affected by both the continental European climate from the North, and the Mediterranean climate from the South. This historical city is rich in cultural and religious diversity.

Bosnian Pyramids, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for ancient settlement, landmark, museum, nature, park

The Bosnian pyramids complex is a pseudoarchaeological notion to explain the formation of a cluster of natural hills in the area of Visoko in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 2005, Semir Osmanagic, also known as Sam Osmanagic, a Bosnian American businessman now based in Houston, Texas, has claimed that these hills are the largest human-made ancient pyramids on Earth. His claims have been overwhelmingly refuted by scientists but he has proceeded to promote the area as a tourist attraction.

Travnik, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for architecture, fortress, historical center, river

Travnik is a charming small town located 90 km northeast of Sarajevo, and it is one of Bosnia-Herzegovina's most historically important towns. The town's centerpiece is the medieval Travnik fortress, which was originally established and controlled by Bosnian rulers before the Ottoman takeover of the 15th century. The town has a cultural heritage dating from the Ottoman period, with landmarks such as the Hadji Ali-bey Mosque, the Regional Museum, and the elaborate gymnasium built in the Austro-Hungarian architectural style.
