Come with us to discover Bosnia-Herzegovina! We welcome you to our all seasons discovery 4 days tour from Sarajevo. Open to yourself this medieval land with fortresses, monasteries and old towns. This small tour is a good example off the beaten path travel.

Starting in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina, we will come to important place for all Sarajevo people, the museum of Sarajevo siege, called Tunnel of Hope. After, we will come to town Travnik, to visit its medieval fortress, and continue this day with town Jajce, where will see famous waterfall and come to park with small cute wooden watermills.

Next day we will continue to explore Jajce, with walking its historical center and climb to medieval fortress. After break, we will take a road to Mostar. On the way to Mostar, we will visit a village Scit, with amazing panoramic viewpoints, Franciscan monastery with interesting sculptures, and local ethnographic museum, all located on the tiny peninsula at the middle of lake. On arrival to Mostar (UNESCO World Heritage site), we will have a walking tour of historical center and visit famous Mostar bridge.

After sleep in Mostar, we going to visit Blagaj, small town known from medieval time as residence of local rulers, and will see here Dervish monastery (Blagaj tekka), built under cliff along river coming from cave. Next place to visit is medieval fortified town Pocitelj, will cobbed narrow streets and Ottoman fort on top. After break, we will continue our way to town Trebinje, the most south town of Bosnia-Herzegovina. On the way to Trebinje, we will visit archaeological site Radimlja (UNESCO World Heritage site) with medieval carved tombstones.

During the next day, after sleep in Trebinje, we will come to monastery Tvrdos, where will understand the importance of this place for whole region. The monastery Tvrdos is very well known for its wine, and you will able to taste internationally recognized white, rose, and red wine, together with visiting cellars with huge barrels. Before we will take road back to Sarajevo, we still have to see a few places in Trebinje: old Ottoman bridge; hilly church and get to know the history behind, and admire gorgeous view to the town, river and whole valley; and walk small historical center. After break, we will start our way to Sarajevo, passing through national park Sutejska.

The tour will start and finish in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and will take 4 days (3 nights). During this tour you will visit Travnik, Jajce, Šćit, Mostar, Blagaj, Počitelj, Radimlja, Tvrdoš, Trebinje located in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We will pick you up at any hotel or place, in or around Sarajevo. Drop off is the same as pick up, or upon request in another place.

Overall, with this tour you will visit 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites and 3 sites from the UNESCO Tentative List (sites that were submitted to the World Heritage Committee, and are awaiting to consider for nomination, and therefore suitable for inscription on the World Heritage List).

Travnik is a charming small town located 90 km northeast of Sarajevo, and it is one of Bosnia-Herzegovina's most historically important towns. The town's centerpiece is the medieval Travnik fortress, which was originally established and controlled by Bosnian rulers before the Ottoman takeover of the 15th century. The town has a cultural heritage dating from the Ottoman period, with landmarks such as the Hadji Ali-bey Mosque, the Regional Museum, and the elaborate gymnasium built in the Austro-Hungarian architectural style.

Jajce, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for fortress, historical center, nature, park, river, waterfall; historical center is a UNESCO Tentative List Site

Jajce is a town and municipality located in the central area of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the confluence of the rivers Pliva and Vrbas. Jajce was first built in the 14th century and served as the capital of the independent Kingdom of Bosnia during its time. A medieval fortified old town of Jajce is one of the best preserved fortified capitals of the Bosnian Kingdom. The old Jajce walled city core, including the waterfall, and other individual sites outside the walled city perimeter, such as the Jajce Mithraeum, is designated as The natural and architectural ensemble of Jajce and is placed on the UNESCO Tentative list.

Šćit (Scit), Bosnia and Herzegovina

Scit is small village located in central area of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The village location is notable because it's fully placed on the peninsula located in the middle of artificial lake. Scit is famous for Franciscan monastery built in the 15th century and very specific locality.

The Old Bridge, built by the Ottomans in the 16th century, is one of Bosnia-Herzegovina's most recognizable landmarks, and is considered one of the most exemplary pieces of Islamic architecture in the Balkans.

Blagaj, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Blagaj is a village in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of Bosnia-Herzegovina, located in about 15 km from Mostar, and is one of the most valuable mixed urban and rural built environments in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Blagaj has eleven national monuments, and is famous for the spring of the Buna river coming from cave, historical Dervish monastery (tekija) built around 1520, and medieval fortress Blagaj Fort, town-fortress complex built on a 310 meters high karst hill. Blagaj is also known as a residential area of Bosnian rulers and royal families.

Počitelj (Pocitelj), Bosnia and Herzegovina

Počitelj is a small Ottoman-Mediterranean settlement, built along the Neretva river, conveniently located on the major road between Dubrovnik and Mostar. The walled town of Počitelj evolved in the period from the 16th to the 18th centuries. Architecturally, the stone-constructed parts of the town are a fortified complex, in which two stages of evolution are evident: medieval and Ottoman.

Radimlja, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for archaeological site; archaeological site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Radimlja is a main UNESCO World Heritage Site where is possible to see so called Stecci, a monumental medieval tombstones. Radimlja necropolis located near town Stolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is one of the most valuable monuments of the medieval period in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Tvrdoš (Tvrdos), Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for winery, orthodox monastery

The famous monastery Tvrdos, located about five kilometers from Trebinje, dates back to the Middle Ages and it is believed that it was founded by the Czar, Saint Constantine, and his mother Saint Helen. The Tvrdos monastery is renowned for its wine production and its wine cellars, with possibility to wine tasting.

Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina
