Discover the best of Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina on this perfectly paced 4-day mini tour from Tivat, designed for year-round exploration. This compact journey takes you to the most iconic UNESCO-listed sites of the Adriatic coast and the historic heart of Herzegovina, offering a rich tapestry of Venetian elegance and Ottoman heritage.

We will guide you from the magnificent Bay of Kotor to the legendary city of Mostar, experiencing majestic fortresses, serene island churches, fascinating cave systems, and ancient monasteries. Day after day description

Day 1. We depart Tivat and travel to the magnificent fortified city of Kotor (UNESCO World Heritage Site). We explore its winding medieval streets, visit the 12th-century Romanesque Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, and climb the formidable San Giovanni Fortress (UNESCO World Heritage Site) for breathtaking views. After that, we will come to Budva for accommodation.

Day 2. After staying in Budva, we explore its charming walled historical center. We then continue to the beautiful coastal town of Perast (UNESCO World Heritage Site) to visit the picturesque Our Lady of the Rocks island and its Catholic church (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Afterwards, we will cross into Bosnia-Herzegovina and come to Trebinje for accommodation.

Day 3. After an overnight in Trebinje, we travel to Tvrdos to explore its Serbian Orthodox monastery, originally founded in the 15th century, and sample local wines at its winery. We then visit the fascinating Vjetrenica cave system (UNESCO World Heritage Site), renowned for its biodiversity. Our journey continues to Mostar to explore its famous historical center (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Stari Most (Old Bridge). We will stay in Mostar.

Day 4. After staying in Mostar, we take a short drive to Blagaj to visit the stunning Dervish monastery (Tekija) (UNESCO Tentative List Site), a 16th-century Sufi (Islamic) retreat at the source of the Buna River. We then visit the remarkable medieval stecci (tombstone) necropolis at Radimlja (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Our final stop is the ancient hilltop fortress at Stolac (UNESCO Tentative List Site). Finally, we return to Tivat, Montenegro, where our memorable journey concludes.

Budva, Montenegro

Blagaj, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Blagaj is a village in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of Bosnia-Herzegovina, located in about 15 km from Mostar, and is one of the most valuable mixed urban and rural built environments in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Blagaj has eleven national monuments, and is famous for the spring of the Buna river coming from cave, historical Dervish monastery (tekija) built around 1520, and medieval fortress Blagaj Fort, town-fortress complex built on a 310 meters high karst hill. Blagaj is also known as a residential area of Bosnian rulers and royal families.

Radimlja, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Radimlja is a main UNESCO World Heritage Site where is possible to see so called Stecci, a monumental medieval tombstones. Radimlja necropolis located near town Stolac, and is one of the most valuable monuments of the medieval period in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Stolac and surroundings have been inhabited since ancient times due to the area's favorable natural environment. The rich grounds along with other natural benefits attracted prehistoric man, and later the Illyrians, Romans and Slavs, all of whom left a wealth of anthropological evidence. The area has been settled for at least 15,000 years.
