We going to see Vjetrenica cave (UNESCO Tentative List site) with unique animal called human fish and Zavala Orthodox monastery partially located in cave. After we will take a scenic road to see Tvrdos monastery and taste great white, red, and rose wines of its cellar. From Tvrdos we will take a short road to Trebinje, to see the town and whole valley from the hill with a beautiful church.

It is a real treasure in biodiversity. Also, it is the home to the famous olm (cave aquatic salamander) and houses beautiful cave formations as well.

Tvrdoš (Tvrdos), Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for winery, orthodox monastery

The famous monastery Tvrdos, located about five kilometers from Trebinje, dates back to the Middle Ages and it is believed that it was founded by the Czar, Saint Constantine, and his mother Saint Helen. The Tvrdos monastery is renowned for its wine production and its wine cellars, with possibility to wine tasting.
