Day after day descriptionDay 1. We begin our tour in Thessaloniki and travel to Serres. We will explore the historic St. John the Forerunner monastery and visit the Serres Natural History Museum. Our accommodation for the night is in Serres. Day 2. After staying in Serres, we delve deeper into the city's heritage by visiting the Sts. Theodores church and the historic Acropolis landmark. We also see the St. Nicholas of the Acropolis church and the insightful Serres Ecclesiastical Museum. We stay another night in Serres. Day 3. After 2 nights in Serres, we travel to Domiros to visit the Agia Paraskevi monastery. We then proceed to Alistrati to explore its famous limestone cave network and see the Agia Kiriaki monastery. After that, we will come to Drama for accommodation. Day 4. After staying in Drama, we travel to Proti to visit the Ascension of the Lord monastery. Our journey continues to the historic and revered Virgin Mary Eikosiphoinissa monastery, a major Eastern Orthodox monastic center. Afterwards, we will come to the coastal city of Kavala for accommodation. Day 5. After an overnight in Kavala, we explore this picturesque coastal town, including its impressive Byzantine-Ottoman fortress, the historic house of Mehmet Ali Pasha, and a prominent Dormition of the Virgin church. We stay another night in Kavala. Day 6. After 2 nights in Kavala, we take a short trip to the ancient city of Philippi (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a key site where the Apostle Paul founded the first Christian church in Europe. We explore its extensive archaeological site, ancient theatre, and excellent museum. We return to Kavala for accommodation. Day 7. After staying in Kavala, we travel to Amphipolis to explore its significant archaeological park and museum. We also visit the famous Lion of Amphipolis, a 4th-century BC tomb monument. After that, we will come to Thessaloniki for accommodation. Day 8. After an overnight in Thessaloniki, we visit the city's excellent Byzantine Museum, dedicated to the art of the Eastern Roman Empire. We also visit the 14th-century Vlatadon Monastery, a historic Eastern Orthodox site. We stay another night in Thessaloniki. Day 9. After 2 nights in Thessaloniki, we travel to Veria (Beroea), a city praised in the Acts of the Apostles. We visit its Byzantine Museum and the historic Podium, a landmark associated with Paul the Apostle's preaching. Afterwards, we will come to Litochoro for accommodation. Day 10. After staying in Litochoro, we explore the foothills of Mount Olympus. We visit the Olympus National Park information center and travel to the scenic Zilnia viewpoint for magnificent panoramas. We return to Litochoro for accommodation. Day 11. After an overnight in Litochoro, we travel to the charming traditional mountain town of Palaios Panteleimonas. After exploring its stone streets, we continue our journey south to Volos for accommodation. Day 12. After staying in Volos, we visit the beautiful 'balcony of Mount Pelion', the mountain town of Makrinitsa, famous for its architecture and views. Afterwards, we will come to Chalkida for accommodation. Day 13. After an overnight in Chalkida, we visit the city's Archaeological Museum. We then continue our journey to the capital.
