Introduction

Experience the soul of Bosnia-Herzegovina on this enriching 3-day circle tour from Sarajevo, a year-round journey designed to showcase the region's profound history, spiritual significance, and natural splendor. We will guide you through a route that encompasses the iconic UNESCO-listed city of Mostar, the mystical Sufi retreat of Blagaj, the hilltop Ottoman jewel of Pocitelj, the renowned Christian pilgrimage site of Medjugorje, and the breathtaking beauty of the Kravica waterfalls. Day after day description

Day 1. We depart Sarajevo and travel to the Tunnel of Hope Museum, a poignant testament to the city's siege during the 1990s conflict. We then proceed to Konjic to see its iconic Old Stone Bridge, originally built in the 17th century. Our journey continues to Mostar to explore its famous historical center (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the reconstructed 16th-century Stari Most (Old Bridge), a celebrated symbol of reconciliation. Our accommodation for the night is in Mostar.

Day 2. After staying in Mostar, we travel to Blagaj to visit the stunning Dervish monastery (Tekija) (UNESCO Tentative List Site), a 16th-century Sufi (Islamic) retreat built at the source of the Buna River. We then visit the remarkable medieval stećci (tombstone) necropolis at Radimlja (UNESCO World Heritage Site) from the 15th-16th centuries. We continue to the enchanting Ottoman-era hill town of Pocitelj (UNESCO Tentative List Site). After that, we will return to Mostar for accommodation.

Day 3. After an overnight in Mostar, we travel to Medjugorje, a world-famous Roman Catholic pilgrimage center since reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary began in 1981. We then visit the magnificent Kravica waterfalls, a stunning natural amphitheater of cascades on the Trebizat River, perfect for scenic walks and photos. Finally, we return to Sarajevo.

Mostar, beautiful and historical town, located only 60 km away from the Adriatic Sea, is the cultural, political and financial center of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Its diversity and architecture make it truly special. The Old Bridge, built by the Ottomans in the 16th century, is one of Bosnia-Herzegovina's most recognizable landmarks, and is considered one of the most exemplary pieces of Islamic architecture in the Balkans.



Blagaj, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for architecture, bridge, cave, fortress, landmark, museum, river, viewpoint, islam monastery; monastery is a UNESCO Tentative List Site

Blagaj is a village in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of Bosnia-Herzegovina, located in about 15 km from Mostar, and is one of the most valuable mixed urban and rural built environments in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Blagaj has eleven national monuments, and is famous for the spring of the Buna river coming from cave, historical Dervish monastery (tekija) built around 1520, and medieval fortress Blagaj Fort, town-fortress complex built on a 310 meters high karst hill. Blagaj is also known as a residential area of Bosnian rulers and royal families.



Radimlja, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for archaeological site; archaeological site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Radimlja is a main UNESCO World Heritage Site where is possible to see so called Stecci, a monumental medieval tombstones. Radimlja necropolis located near town Stolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is one of the most valuable monuments of the medieval period in Bosnia and Herzegovina.



Počitelj (Pocitelj), Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for fortified town, fortress, medieval old town, viewpoint; medieval old town is a UNESCO Tentative List Site

Pocitelj is a small Ottoman-Mediterranean settlement, built along the Neretva river, conveniently located on the major road between Dubrovnik and Mostar. The walled town of Pocitelj evolved in the period from the 16th to the 18th centuries. Architecturally, the stone-constructed parts of the town are a fortified complex, in which two stages of evolution are evident: medieval and Ottoman.



Međugorje (Medjugorje), Bosnia and Herzegovina

Known for catholic pilgrimage center
