One of two self-built castles in Hungary (the other is the much more ramshackle Tarodi Var), The Bory Castle In Szekesfehervar was the work of Hungarian sculptor and architect Jeno Bory. Bory built the castle between 1923 and 1959 with the help of several of his students.

The first record related to the castle of Siklós is in a certificate dated back to 1294. December 2, 2020 Tepelenë (Tepelene), Albania. Tepelene is a historic town well know as the birth place of Ali Pasha, Vizier of Ioannina (1741-1822). The castle, completed in 1819, was built by Ali Pasha to enclose his palaces, is the most important monument in Tepelene.
